There's new music ahead for Kelly Clarkson!

When 2015 rings in, fans will be that much closer to hearing a new album from the 'Tie It Up' singer. Clarkson tweeted the big news in response to a fan who asked whether the superstar would have any surprises in store when new music drops.

"Yes. I'm so proud of my next album!" Clarkson responded, adding, "Might have a special guest on the album ....maybe :) Doesn't come out until early next year."

It's been a long time coming -- almost three years, in fact -- since the original American Idol released her last full-length original album. Fans did get a fresh helping of Clarkson with her Christmas album 'Wrapped in Red,' which came out in 2013, as well as a greatest hits record, but it was just enough to satiate. The singer did, however, debut a new baby, River Rose, in 2014.

While expanding her family, it sounds like Clarkson has still been busy preparing for her upcoming record, and she even shared a sneak peek of one her songs, tweeting, "The high road can be a lonely place but I'd rather talk to my shadow than a mirage."

Hopefully, Clarkson will reveal more details about her new album soon (like, will it be country or pop?) ... and perhaps she should take some inspiration from the hilarious 'lullaby' she sang to River. She recently tweeted, "Ran out of songs 2 sing while trying 2 put my little girl 2 sleep & she finally nods off after 'Silly Ho' by TLC #shecantunderstandthelyrics."
