Kelsea Ballerini recently visited Perez Hilton in Los Angeles for a special cover performance of Drake's popular 2015 release, "Hotline Bling."

"We are gonna do a cover of one of my favorite Drake songs," she says before putting her own soulful interpretation on the track.

Backed by her guitarist, Ballerini's vocals soar on the stripped-down track as she makes it her own.

Ballerini is far from the first country artist to cover Drake's hit. While several artists have performed the song live in concert, perhaps the most unique cover version goes to Justin Moore, who participated in an interpretive reading of the song late last year.

Phoenix radio station KNIX convinced the Arkansas native to do a reading of Drake’s “Hotline Bling” lyrics. Reading the song word-for-word in his thick accent, Moore gives new meaning to the track. While he did his best to read "Hotline Bling" in its entirety without laughter, he broke down mid-song.

“I wonder if you’re rolling up a backwoods for someone else / Doing things I taught you, getting nasty for someone else,” he reads before bursting out laughing.

“I was doing so good ’til you started laughin’!” he tells someone off camera.

Somehow, Moore manages to finish the reading without breaking down once more. After the last line, he asks, “How much more money does this guy make than us? It's ridiculous. Are you kidding me?”

When she is not covering songs from rappers, Ballerini will co-host a new show this summer on ABC called Greatest Hits. The unscripted singing show will feature music icons and today’s artists performing popular songs from the 1980s, ’90s and 2000s.
