Kelsea Ballerini leaned on her fans on Sunday evening (April 8) as she was mourning the loss of a dear family member, her grandmother.

"Lost my mother’s mother earlier this week," Ballerini writes on her Instagram page alongside a video of a candle burning. A new Kelsea Ballerini song is playing in the background, recorded in her grandmother's memory over the weekend, her reps confirm to Taste of Country.

“(It) was a tough one to process, so I did as I do ..." she admits.

Fans immediately offered uplifting messages, along with their own stories of loss. "I lost my grandparents last year," one fan wrote. "I’m sorry for your loss. One day at a time."

Indeed, it's a sad note during a time of life that should be one of Ballerini’s happiest, as she continues to enjoy her new role as wife to fellow country artist Morgan Evans. Ballerin is scheduled to make her debut on CBS’ The Late Late Show with James Corden on April 10 to perform her current single, "I Hate Love Songs." She's also a confirmed performer at the 2018 ACM Awards on April 15 and is nominated for Video of the Year for "Legends."
