Kelsea Ballerini — who celebrates her 23rd birthday on Monday (Sept. 12) — is keeping very busy. The singer is wrapping up the Rascal Flatts tour and prepping for her own headlining run, which kicks off next month, but she still had time to stop by the Taste of Country Nights studio to talk.

Ballerini admits she was sad about the Flatts tour ending, but she's cooking up a prank to pull on the guys ...

“I’m planning my pranking. I've heard they’re big pranksters, of course ... I’m scared to say them because I’m scared they will find out," she explains without sharing what tricks, exactly, she might pull. "We’re thinking of things.”

Ballerini has had a lot of talented artists to learn from thus far in her career, and soon, she'll put that knowledge to use by going out on her own tour.

“I feel like it’s been so crazy to get to open for people like Rascal Flatts, Lady A, Billy Currington," she says. "I’ve learned a lot by watching them and I feel like I’ve gotten to watch my fanbase grow with the three singles I’ve had out. I want to get up close and personal with my fans this year.”

Ballerini's headlining tour kicks off on Oct. 21 in Houston. Carly Pearce, Morgan Evans, Levi Hummon and Jacob Davis will appear on the bill, as will Cam on a few dates. It was important for Ballerini to finish the tour with a fellow female up-and-comer so she could wrap up with a "girl power bang."

Fans can purchase tickets to Ballerini's headlining shows on her website.
