Kenny Chesney had an unexpected visitor at his Nashville area home on Wednesday morning. A woman claiming to have a relationship with the singer was arrested after 2AM when authorities found her smoking and drinking wine near his pool.

WKRN reports that Melissa Carol Mansfield was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing and public intoxication. Chesney was out of the state at the time, but the property manager said she didn't have permission to be there. "She claims she had a relationship with the homeowner, who invited her there," Williamson County Sheriff's Deputy Hugh Tharpe said.

"She was found around the pool area, in a restroom," he told WKRN. "(The) corporal was looking around the perimeter and found her in a restroom. She had at least one if not two bottles of wine with her."

Mansfield says she stopped in Knoxville to visit with Chesney's parents before taking a Greyhound bus to Nashville. Authorities say she then got in a limousine, which she claims was hired by Chesney, and traveled 25 miles south to the singer's Williamson County home, hopped the fence and made herself at home. When questioned, she listed her home as Murrieta, Calf., a city between Los Angeles and San Diego. "She did claim to have a relationship with Mr. Chesney and they were dating but that is not confirmed at all," Tharpe said.

Chesney's publicist says the singer has no connection to Mansfield. Authorities were first alerted to the break-in when an alarm was tripped. The woman is scheduled to appear in a Williamson County court next week.
