Kia Introducing Forte Koup Mud Bogger

Kia is headed for some off-road fun with a new car they're introducing at the 2015 SEMA show. Forget what you think you know; the Kia Forte Koup Mud Bogger is a car for the kid in you that likes to — in the immortal words of Brad Paisley — get a little mud on the tires.

Kia is unveiling the new car at the SEMA show, an industry-only automotive specialty show that is taking place in Las Vegas from Nov. 3-6 this year. The annual trade show lets car manufacturers show off their new ideas before they roll them out to market, and wow, is this a new direction for Kia.

The Forte Koup Mud Bogger is the end result of a partnership between Kia and Lux Motorwerks, and they knew they had to bring fun and performance front and center to be competitive in the off-road market. They started with a four-inch body and suspension lift, then added 28-inch off-road tires on Fuel Off-Road 15x10-inch Revolver wheels, which are powder coated white.

The fenders and side skirts on the Mud Bogger have been modified to accommodate the larger wheels and tires, and custom riveted fender flares added. The Koup is also fitted with a hand-built brush guard that's also been powder coated white, along with a Rigid LED light bar. Top it off with a red, white and blue color scheme and you've got a car that's perfect for the country lifestyle — you can head off-road in patriotic style!

The Kia Forte Koup Mud Bogger features a panoramic roof with a vinyl pushback top, with a stripped-down interior. The carpet has been removed, and the entire floor of the vehicle is lined with Line-X protective coating. The Koup has also been souped up by replacing the stock seats with Sparco Evo II Red Race Seats with Sparco 4PT Snap-In Harnesses, and a Sparco L575 steering wheel. The car also incorporates a hand-built roll cage that is powder coated white to match the wheels.

For now the Mud Bogger is just a concept that's being presented at SEMA, but Car & Driver says "it would make for one of the best special-edition cars we’ve ever seen."
