Kid Rock won't be attending the Detroit Music Awards ceremony on Friday (April 29). According to the Detroit Free Press, the singer has postponed his acceptance of his Distinguished Achievement Award until next year's ceremony following the death of his personal assistant, Mike Sacha.

Kid Rock was supposed to take part in the ceremony's 25th anniversary on Friday and was going to be given his award by Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, but has decided to stay in Tennessee until he can bring Sacha home to his family.

According to reports, 30-year-old Sacha was killed in an ATV accident early Monday (April 25). The Tennessean explains that Sacha was bringing guests who attended a cookout at Rock's estate to an Uber around 12AM Monday, which is when he was last seen alive. Sacha allegedly lost control of the vehicle and wrecked while returning to the house.

Kid Rock found his assitant on an embankment late Monday morning and immediately called for help. In the since released 911 call, the country-rocker frantically requests an ambulance be sent to his estate. Sacha was later pronounced dead on the scene.

“He was a member of our family and one of the greatest young men I have ever had the pleasure to not only work with, but also to become friends with,” Kid Rock says in a statement. “I know I speak for us all in sharing my deepest condolences to his family. I cannot imagine how they must feel. Myself, the band, our family, friends and co-workers are devastated over this loss."

Kid Rock is scheduled to headline at the Taste of Country Music Festival, WE Fest and Country on the River this summer
