Kip Moore Samples Unreleased Song, ‘Last Shot’ [Watch]
Kip Moore has been treating fans who come to see him live to a new, yet-to-be-released song called “Last Shot,” and now the rest of us can hear it, too. A new video has surfaced from Moore’s show in Park City, Utah, featuring the artist performing the new tune, and it’s definitely one to remember.
Moore stands alone on stage with an acoustic for the raspy, sentimental ballad about a woman he is promising never to take for granted. He begins the verse explaining that many people say the word "love" to one another without fully meaning it or knowing the weight of it, so instead, he goes a different route to prove his commitment. The clever lyrics in the chorus are a series of what-ifs, musing about how he would savor every moment with her if he knew it was the last.
“If you were my last breath, I’d just wanna hold ya / If you were my last night hell on wheels, wanna drive you like I stole ya,” Moore sings. "If you were my last shot of whiskey / I’d press you to my lips, take a little sip / Swirl you around and around and ’round / Then I’d shoot you down.”
Hear the full song in the video above from Miranda Lambert's Keeper of the Flame Tour, which he’s currently on the road supporting. At the end of September Moore will embark on his own headlining run called the Me & My Kind Tour, starting in Oklahoma City and bringing Jon Pardi along with him. The shows run through Dec. 8, wrapping up in Detroit.
