Soulful country singer Kree Harrison placed as the runner-up to Candice Glover on the twelfth season of the hit Fox reality singing competition 'American Idol' on Thursday night (May 16), after a season filled with standout performances.

The Texas native is no stranger to country music; she has made multiple appearances on Rosie O'Donnell's talk show and had a deal with Lyric Street Records in Nashville when she was younger, though it didn't result in the release of an album. She is a veteran of the Nashville scene, having also had a publishing deal and performed at many of Music City's top venues.

Harrison was a frontrunner since the moment she first appeared on the 'Idol' stage, consistently delivering some of the most memorable vocal performances of the year. Her range, power and ability to interpret a wide range of songs have been the key to her success in the competition, not only earning her accolades from the judges, music industry veterans and her peers, but resulting in an outpouring of fan support that brought her to the finale Thursday night.
