Now that Kristian Bush has embarked on a solo career, he's having to film music videos on his own. The Sugarland member recently cut the lyric video for his song 'Trailer Hitch' and decided to do things a little differently.

Bush stopped by the Taste of Country Nights studio to chat with host Sam Alex about the video and how the idea was a little ... unique.

“They asked me to be a part of the lyric video, which is kind of strange ‘cause I thought maybe that makes it the video and not a lyric video, but I just went with ‘em," Bush explains. "The management said this is a real trend and I was like, 'Well, I don’t care.'”

That's how it all began. The concept for the video was simple: Bush would be "busking" on the street and the crew would be filming the whole thing. He had another idea, however.

“I went to go busk in the street -- which, for anybody that doesn’t know, that verb that’s where you just stand there with your guitar case open and you play music and maybe somebody comes by and throws a dollar in," he explains. "But I tried to flip it on its head a little bit. I went to the ATM machine on the way to the corner where we did it and I just got out 300 bucks ..."

Bush did a little role reversal and instead decided to give money away (the maximum the ATM would allow) and film that instead -- all while performing 'Trailer Hitch.'

“I went to CVS and I changed it all out for dollar bills and I put it in my guitar case and I said, 'Well maybe we can try to give away these dollars a dollar at a time," he reveals. Really, he was just curious what would happen.

"This is definitely more interesting than just standing there," the singer decided. We'd agree. Watch the 'Trailer Hitch' lyric video here.

Sam Alex is the host of Taste of Country Nights radio, a syndicated night show which airs on more than 60 Townsquare Media Group stations nationwide.
