Lady Antebellum have been blurring the boundaries of country music this year as they have teamed up with artists far outside the genre to create a new sound, first with a performance of “Long Stretch of Love” with electronic/pop artist DJ Zedd at the CMT Awards this summer, and now with their collaboration with electronic dance music (EDM) artist Audien. The track, titled “Something Better," was made available to stream earlier this summer via SoundCloud, but Audien has now posted an official lyric video for the song.

The video matches the upbeat tune's style, with space-inspired renderings of astronauts, planets and galaxies and futuristic graphics.

“Something Better” is the best of both worlds, keeping Lady A’s signature smooth harmonies and singable melody on top of a dance-y, fun electronic track. Band member Charles Kelley says he was drawn to the song from the beginning.

"This is one of the best songs I've heard in a long time," Charles Kelley tells Rolling Stone Country. "Lyrically, it was powerful. It reminded me of some those really great messages you hear from a band like Switchfoot."

He goes on to talk a little more about experimenting with different musical influences while keeping their roots in county.

"It took us out of our comfort zone. We're learning as a band not to be so scared of things. We'll always stay true to the country genre but that doesn't mean we can't have a little fun,” he adds.

Lady Antebellum are wrapping up their Wheels Up Tour this month in Camden, N.J. and recently played a sold-out show in their hometown of Nashville.
