Lady Antebellum's fourth studio album is due out in just a few weeks, but you don't have to wait until May 7 to sample some new tunes from the Grammy-winning trio's latest album. Lady A is offering up a free download of their single 'Goodbye Town' if you preorder the new record. In a recent interview, they revealed why 'Goodbye Town' emerged as an unlikely frontrunner on the new album.

During the most recent episode of the country trio's Webisode Wednesday series, Charles Kelley admitted that when the group first wrote 'Goodbye Town,' it wasn't one of their favorite songs. But thanks to a little production work, the single quickly emerged as one of his favorite tracks on the band's forthcoming 'Golden' album.

"We had written it a while back, but it kind of got put on the back burner a little bit," Kelley says. "We weren't sure how it would come out, and the minute Paul Worley said, 'Let's just approach it a completely different way,' it just showed itself as one of the frontrunners of this record."

Lady A debuted 'Goodbye Town' when they recorded a performance for Tim McGraw's Superstar Summer Nights on April 8. Against all odds, the track has become one of Kelley's favorite songs on 'Golden.'

"I think we just love that attitude behind it. If there's one song I would say is my favorite production on the record, it's gotta be 'Goodbye Town,'" he says.

Front woman Hillary Scott agrees -- but for slightly different reasons.

"The lyrics are just great, and the music," Scott says, adding that she loves the way Kelley sings his part of the song.

"He just sings the crap out of it," she adds, laughing.
