Lauren Alaina will be a part of the soundtrack to this year’s college football season. The singer is partnering with ESPN to create a track that will play exclusively during this year’s college football coverage.

“For a Southern girl, college football is everything. I am so pumped to have my song used for ESPN’s college football coverage,” Alaina explains in a press release. “Thank you ESPN for giving me something to make my boyfriend, dad, and brother think I’m that much cooler!”

The track, “History,” was penned by Alaina, Jesse Frasure and Emily Weisband specifically for ESPN. It will be featured in its promotions across all platforms for the top college football matchups each week. The song will also be a key component of ESPN’s campaign building toward the College Football Playoff semifinals, as well as the National Championship.

Alaina and Imagine Dragons were the only two artists chosen to contribute new recordings for this college football promotion.

"I have followed Lauren’s career and knew of her talent. The pageantry, traditions, passion and atmosphere of college football is unlike any other sport and Lauren has captured what makes the season special in her song ‘History’,” shares Kevin Wilson, ESPN Music Director.

As if we didn’t have enough reasons to be excited about the upcoming college football season!
