The naysayers were put in their rightful place after a heated battle on Taste of Country Nights radio on Wednesday. Lauren Alaina 'inched' by Jason Aldean to win the Taste of Country Showdown by less than 40 votes and just 1 percent -- but it was a win nonetheless. With him out of the way, Alaina's new single 'Eighteen Inches' takes on a fresh competitor in Trace Adkins' latest fan favorite, 'Them Lips (On Mine).'

He may look tough, but Adkins is a big, buttery ball of love, which is a 'secret' his loving (and majorly female) fanbase is privy to. With 'Them Lips (On Mine),' the "big guy" blends just the right mixture of goofiness and humor with cheesy romance and come-hither lyrics.

But even armed with a natural sexiness that country-loving women can't deny, Adkins won't make easy work of Alaina's swarms of dedicated followers. Listen to clips of both Adkins’ and Alaina’s songs and vote for your favorite here. You can vote once every hour online, so come back and vote often. Hear the full versions of the songs tonight after 10PM on Taste of Country Nights, and vote again by calling (888) 678-9995.

You can listen to the show online through any of the 33 radio stations that carry it. Voting will end tonight at 10:40PM CT.

Showdown Rules: The song with the most votes wins, and the winner goes on to face a new challenger in the next Showdown. Vote as much as once per hour. If a song wins five days in a row, it will be retired into the Taste of Country Showdown Hall of Fame to allow for new songs to compete. Some songs will be considered for a second Showdown if voter turnout is healthy in a losing effort.
