LeAnn Rimes made a quick trip to New York City this week to appear on 'Live! With Regis and Kelly' on Monday morning. The country singer and frequent tabloid cover girl no doubt appreciated being able to avoid talking about some of the more sensational headlines she's been attached to. Rimes simply sang the song '16 Tons' and flew home to Los Angeles.

The singer's version of the 1946 Tennessee Ernie Ford hit is slow and sexy. She recorded the song for her most recent album of covers called 'Lady and Gentleman' and performed it in a conservative taupe dress that covered her arms and touched her knees. As the steel guitar player worked through his extensive solo, Rimes swayed her hips back and forth purposefully. Somehow she always seems to pull off looking like a 1930s chanteuse.

Rimes has a break between shows before playing three dates in Michigan beginning on November 11. Her official website lists eight more dates in 2011. Followers of her Twitter page will agree that may be a good thing, as she has her hands full with "Bonus Mom" duties.
