Lee Ann Womack is getting ready to add a little soul to her music repertoire. 'CMT Crossroads' is pairing the country music legend with another kind of 'legend' -- R&B musician John Legend.

Since 2002, 'CMT Crossroads' has believed that "great music knows no boundaries" -- something that's been proven time and again by pairing country music artists with musicians from other genres for one epic concert of shared performances and stories. In recent specials, Lady Antebellum teamed up and Stevie Nicks, Dierks Bentley and OneRepublic came together and Kacy Musgraves had an epic show with Katy Perry. This month, fans will be able to catch Womack when she hits the stage with John Legend.

“Having John and Lee Ann join us on 'CMT Crossroads' is going to be an incredible pairing," says a CMT exec. "They are both among the most respected singers in their genres ... this has all the makings of another classic 'Crossroads' collaboration.”

Neither Womack nor Legend are strangers to collaboration. Throughout her 20 plus years in the industry, the 'I Hope You Dance' singer has teamed up with big names like Willie Nelson and George Strait countless times. Legend already teamed up with country stars once this year, performing his hit 'All of Me' at the 2014 CMT Music Awards with Jennifer Nettles and Hunter Hayes.

While many of the pairings for 'Crossroads' feature country artists with musicians from the classic rock genre, the combination of Womack's unique country sound with Legend's soulful R&B will certainly be one to watch.

Fans can catch 'CMT Crossroads: Lee Ann Womack and John Legend' on Friday, Sept. 26 at 10PM ET on CMT.
