Singer-songwriter Lee Brice premiered the music video for his latest single, “That Don’t Sound Like You,” on Tuesday (June 30) via CMT. The song is the third release from his No. 1 album I Don’t Dance.

The video, which has been dubbed “sturdy” and “aching” by the New York Times, is a somber recollection of glimpses into who someone used to be. Brice portrays true emotion in his delivery as he sings the lyrics, which reflect on the subtle differences he detects in the song’s leading lady since she moved on to another man and another life, sparked by an unexpected phone call.

“What did he do?” Brice pleads. “‘Cause you don’t sound like you anymore."

The wide-shot scenes take place at the seaside near a boardwalk, filmed on location at Virginia Beach, as the narrator contrasts the past and present versions of his lost love.

“That Don’t Sound Like You” was released to country radio May 11, 2015 and is making its way up the charts, currently sitting at No. 39 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Brice won Single Record of the Year with his Platinum-certified single “I Don’t Dance” at the 2015 ACM Awards. He kicked off CMA Fest in Nashville as part of Rodney Atkins’ benefit concert June 9 for Nashville’s W. O. Smith Music School.
