Every Monday night, the Song Suffragettes singer-songwriter round closes with a popular cover of a song important to the group of five women performing. Recently that song was "Landslide" by the Dixie Chicks, and you can watch the acoustic performance here.

Emily Weisband, Hannah Ellis, Kalie Shorr, Alex Masters and Julia Cole are the five singers. Weisband begins as Shorr strums on her acoustic at center stage. Eventually each of the ladies takes a verse or helps with the chorus.

The collective is all about women supporting women, and this special moment that closes each show is representative of that. The Dixie Chicks represent female empowerment, and this special acoustic set captures that spirit.

Taste of Country is a proud supporter of women in country music, and excited to be part of the #LetTheGirlsPlay movement. During the first week of every month, we’ll feature a standout Song Suffragettes artist, showing off her music, songwriting personality and backstory. Look for the next #LetTheGirlsPlay artist on Wednesday (July 8).
