Think of it as the supergroup of the future. Each when when the five acts that make up a Monday night Song Suffragettes round close their show, they choose a cover. Recently, the all-female cast picked one of the strongest female voices of the last 20 years in Faith Hill.

This cover of “This Kiss,” Hill’s hit from 1998, includes July’s #LetTheGirlsPlay artist of the month Mignon Grabois, 14-year-old Alana Springsteen, Kalie Shorr, Lena Stone and Michaelis, a trio of sisters known for their fun songs and even more fun exchanges on stage. Shorr begins before the others take a turn with a verse or chorus.

Together the group finishes the song, drawing big applause from the Monday night Listening Room audience. Hill herself would appreciate the cover, or at least the spirit the group brings to the song. Song Suffragettes and the #LetTheGirlsPlay movement is all about girls helping girls. The collection of rising singer/songwriters is looking for their first break, and Taste of Country is proud to be a partner.
