Five #LetTheGirlsPlay artists looking for their big breaks covered a song from an all-female duo that made the most of theirs nearly a decade ago. Watch as Lena Stone, Tayler Buono and more cover the Wreckers’ No. 1 hit, “Leave the Pieces.”

Stone is center stage, playing guitar and singing the opening and closing lines. She even adds a little percussion. Buono, a singer and songwriter from Orlando, Fla., helps her close the first verse before Madison Kozak and Buono embrace the memorable chorus.

While the Wreckers were something of a one-hit wonder, their one hit was memorable. For years it stood as a rare chart-topper for an all-female act. Before Maddie & Tae reached No. 1 with “Girl In a Country Song” in 2014, it was Michelle Branch and Jessica Harp who were the last female duo to do it, way back in 2006.

Taylor Noelle is also on stage as the five singers become one for this song. That’s what the Song Suffragettes movement is all about; girls helping girls become better while earning the recognition they deserve. Taste of Country is a proud supporter of this movement. Monthly, we put a spotlight on one talented, rising female star. Read all about December’s artist HERE.
