Lindsay Ell made her late-night TV debut on Tuesday evening (June 20) when she performed her current single "Waiting on You" on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The country singer showed off her guitar skills throughout the bluesy performance, sharing the stage with Kimmel's house band, Cleto and the Cletones.

Her new single wasn't the only song she performed, though. Ell also offered a taste of her “Champagne" — a song that will be included on her debut full-length project, which will be released in August. Fittingly titled The Project, Ell made the announcement during her Kimmel appearance. The album follows the release of the singer's EP, Worth the Wait, which was produced by Kristian Bush of Sugarland.

In addition to singing two of her own tracks, Ell also performed two cover songs including “Are You Gonna Go My Way” by Lenny Kravitz and “La Grange” by ZZ Top.

Ell is currently on the road with Brad Paisley for the singer's Weekend Warrior World Tour. She found herself at the center of a controversy last week when she was dropped from a radio appearance, seemingly because of her personal life. The singer is dating iHeartMedia's Bobby Bones, and a CBS Radio-owned station uninvited Ell to a previously-announced event because she was, essentially, in a relationship with their competition. Ell was vocal about the incident, telling the Washington Post that she felt like she was being unfairly singled out because she’s a woman.

“It felt like, all of a sudden, you can’t be a powerful female with goals and dreams and date another powerful person,” Ell reiterated on Monday (June 19). “It’s frustrating to me because I feel like it shouldn’t matter what a guy or a girl [does] in their free time — that shouldn’t affect their business.”
