The presentation of Vocal Group of the Year began with a unique performance of the Oak Ridge Boys’ “Elvira” by a capella sensations Pentatonix. The group had the audience captivated with their short performance before listing out the nominees for Vocal Group of the Year, won by Little Big Town.

The group beat out some of country music's biggest names, including Zac Brown Band, Lady Antebellum and Rascal Flatts.

Little Big Town took the stage to accept the award, and Kimberly noted that it was a particularly special honor because exactly 17 years ago, they formed the group.

“This is the best thing we could ever have dreamed of,” Phillip Sweet said when it was his turn at the mic.

The band was nominated for several awards this year, winning Single of the Year for “Girl Crush.” The tune also nabbed Song of the Year, which was presented to its songwriters, Liz Rose, Lori McKenna and Hillary Lindsey. LBT were also up for Album of the Year for their most recent record Pain Killer.
