Grand Ole Opry veteran Little Jimmy Dickens is 90 years young. Dickens, a member of the Opry for 62 years, celebrated his landmark birthday on Saturday, Dec. 18, although his actual date of birth is December 19. Dickens was serenaded by friend and fellow Opry member Brad Paisley, who led the audience in a rousing rendition of 'Happy Birthday' before feasting on cake.

Even though Dickens, who stands less than five feet tall, is nearing the century mark, his birthday celebration was a thoroughly modern affair, as tweets and Facebook greetings from friends, fans and fellow country stars poured in throughout the show.

The country community loves Dickens, and it's easy to understand why. He's a gracious gentleman with a sense of humor, as his novelty songs indicate -- and he has a big heart, having told WGNA in an exclusive interview that he believes that kindness is the secret to his longevity. He also joked that his friendship with Paisley is based on the fact that every time that Paisley "wants something stupid done in a video," he calls Dickens!

Additionally, Opry member Trace Adkins visited with Dickens during his birthday weekend and enjoyed a chat with him, where Dickens recalled Christmases and past birthdays he enjoyed while growing up in his native West Virginia.

Happy belated birthday, Jimmy! Here's to 10 more!
