Logan Mize is letting country music fans get to know him a little bit better via his new video series, Road to a Good Time. In the first episode — premiering exclusively on Taste of Country — the singer opens up about the "humbling experience" of chasing his music dreams.

"So this journey started for me at probably 8 or 9 years old," Mize says from the front seat of a car. "My first performance was a piano recital, and I was dressed as a football player — it was the most terrifying experience of my life."

The country cutie didn't stick with the piano, but he did catch the music bug. In fact, there was one country superstar in particular who lit a fire under him and made him realize his dream of becoming a country singer.

"It wasn't until I was about 16 years old and I went to a Kenny Chesney concert that came through Wichita," Mize remembers. "I was blown away. I loved all his music and the show was great — seeing the buses and the semis out there."

It was that moment that Mize began working very, very hard to get noticed as an indie act. Even though he'd realized his dream, it took a lot of hard work to bring it to fruition. You wouldn't believe some of the things he had to do to grab attention.

"When I moved to town I thought it was going to be so much easier," the singer admits. "You come to town. You knock on a few doors. You get a record deal. They put you on  a bus and you go out and be a superstar. Instead, it's been a lot more of a humbling experience."
