Lonestar vs. Lady Antebellum – The Showdown
Lonestar are proving that their comeback is no mistake. The band’s new single ‘Maybe Someday’ won for a third day in a row yesterday and last night on Taste of Country Nights radio. Fans are finding that their new music holds up to contemporaries as well as their early ’00s hits like ‘My Front Porch Looking In’ did. Today, they face their toughest competition yet in Lady Antebellum and ‘Downtown.’
‘Downtown’ is the first single from Lady A’s upcoming fourth studio album. The funky, almost doo-wop track features an extra sassy Hillary Scott on lead vocals. There’s no timetable for the new album’s release, but if the song rises up the charts as quickly as some of their previous hits, there will be demand for it by spring.

Showdown Rules: The song with the most votes wins, and the winner goes on to face a new challenger in the next Showdown. Vote as much as once per hour online, and again by calling (888) 678-9995. If a song wins five days in a row, it will be retired into the Taste of Country Showdown Hall of Fame to allow for new songs to compete. Some songs will be considered for a second Showdown if voter turnout is healthy in a losing effort.
