Lucinda Williams is one of the guests for the debut episode of Transmissions, a new interview and live performance web series debuting from WorldArts in February.

The Grammy-winning country singer-songwriter will appear on the show's premiere on Feb. 2, alongside alternative Latino band Chicano Batman. Journalist and music and television personality Nic Harcourt hosts the show, which is directed by Los Angeles-based producer and artist Kita Klane. Harcourt has previously helped launch the careers of artists as diverse as Adele, Coldplay, Norah Jones, Interpol and Florence & the Machine. According to a press release from WorldArts, "Harcourt is widely regarded as one of the most important and influential music tastemakers of the last 20 years," while Klane "has her finger firmly on the digital pulse."

Transmissions is filmed at WorldArts headquarters in Los Angeles, and hosted on the WorldArts website and YouTube channel. The show is slated to air bi-monthly, with upcoming guests including Silversun Pickups, Freedom Fry and Berlin.

“At WorldArts we understand what artists need to be able to make it and we’re creating a viable platform for artists across a wide range of genres,” says Larry Underwood, WorldArts CEO and founder. “Transmissions is our first original content series and it was key that the series reflect who we are. Partnering with Nic and Kita gives us a great platform to celebrate a wide range of emerging and established artists.”

“For Transmissions we wanted to create something that felt intimate — that brought viewers up close to artists and gave the feeling that they were actually there witnessing the performance live,” Harcourt adds. “With its global platform, understanding of music and depth of offerings, WorldArts made for the perfect partner.”
