Luke Bryan has announced the upcoming release of a fifth studio album.

The country superstar revealed the big news during an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday (May 19). Kill the Lights is set for release on Friday, Aug. 7. Bryan also performed the project's lead single, “Kick the Dust Up,” which arrived at country radio Tuesday and is available now at digital retailers. He is scheduled to perform the song on the season finale of The Voice Tuesday evening.

“We’ve been performing the new song on tour this spring, using it to open the shows," Bryan says in a press release. “We love the crowd reaction to it and I cannot wait to be able to share more new music this summer. It’s been two years since we’ve had a new album and I don’t think I’ve been this eager yet to get it out to the fans.”

Kill the Lights is the follow up to 2013's Crash My Party, which has been Bryan's most successful album to date. The album has placed six consecutive No. 1 singles, been certified double platinum and sold more than two million copies, along with eight million digital downloads overall.

The superstar's career is the subject of a new exhibit opening at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville on Friday (May 22) titled Luke Bryan: Dirt Road Diary, and he recently kicked off his Kick the Dust Up tour, which features opening acts Dustin Lynch and Randy Houser and runs through Oct. 30. The tour includes seven stadium headlining shows that will also feature Florida Georgia Line.

Bryan will perform on Good Morning America on album D-day Aug. 7 as part of the show's 2015 Summer Concert Series at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park.
