Luke Bryan is set to perform during the Jan. 7 pre-game BCS National Championship concert, one of the most high profile events in all of college football.

The 'Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye' singer will take the pre-game show stage outside Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Fla. just minutes before college circuit titans Alabama and Notre Dame duke it out for the title of the supreme team of college football.

Given that Alabama knocked Bryan's home state Georgia Bulldogs team from the championship in a last-minute shuffle, it's fair to say that the singer is a good sport for appearing at the celebration concert.

Bryan's appearance at the BCS National Championship game is set to take place just days before the singer will embark on his very first headlining gig. After a handful of No. 1 songs, and more than eight million singles sold, Bryan feels confident that the timing is right to head out on the road as the featured entertainer.

“I have dreamed about this day for a very long time,” Bryan says of his Dirt Road Diaries Tour. “We are having the best time putting together all the bells & whistles for the tour. I have spent a lot of time out on tours with some really great artists and each night we have tried to learn from them. I couldn’t be more excited about this!”

Thompson Square and Florida Georgia Line have been tapped as opening acts on the 20-date tour, which kicks off in Evansville, Ind. on Jan. 17.
