Luke Bryan brought his heartfelt new ballad 'Drink a Beer' and his winning sense of humor to 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' earlier this week (Nov. 27).

Seated among his band, Bryan was ultra serious and wore a poker face as he performed the song about loss. It was a warm, inviting performance a weighty and powerful song. Yes, Bryan nailed it.

He also showed off his jokester side when he sat down with the host, revealing what happened when he rolled his truck into a pond.

Essentially, we got both sides of Luke Bryan in one fell swoop.

Bryan spoke about his American Music Awards experience of winning, singing and being a fan of other artists performing during the sit down.

He was modest about his place in the mainstream universe, saying, "Anytime you're on stage in front Justin Timberlake and Gaga and all these people that are worldwide superstars, and you got ol' country bumpkin Luke Bryan up there...I'm going to have to shake it a little extra to keep 'em going."

The singer got all shy when producers played the viral video of him bumping and grinding on the screen behind him. "I didn't know it looked like that," he joked about how he gets his groove on.

Bryan also expressed his excitement about selling out Madison Square Garden not once but twice. He also told Ellen the story about getting his truck stuck in his catfish pond. He wanted to feed the fish and he left the car in drive. There was no saving his ride; it's totaled.

While that incident probably sucks for his car insurance premiums, the visit to 'Ellen' proved life is good for LB.
