Luke Bryan’s kids had a long list for Santa, but the “Home Alone Tonight” singer and his wife take extra time to remind them what’s truly important. During a recent interview, Bryan said he stresses the importance of Jesus as Christmas Day approaches.

Bryan tells Rare Country that his kids are asking for hoverboards, BB guns, bows and arrows and Legos. It's not clear if Santa will oblige either Tate or Bo (or any of the nieces and nephews he's caring for after his brother-in-law's death). They'll get a full lesson on what Christmas is all about, however.

“We try to stress, every day, stress to them, the importance of Jesus and Christianity and being a good person and believing in higher powers," Bryan says in the above video.

"I think during Christmas time, with kids, they get wrapped up in Santa Claus and stuff, so I think it’s fun that you sit back and really try to have a talk with them about the real reason.”

While Christmas will be a relaxed holiday for the family, Bryan will travel to New York City for New Year’s Eve. He’ll join Carrie Underwood as country performers on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest. He’s scheduled to perform a medley of hits. It's not clear if his new single with Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild will be included. "Home Alone Tonight" is his third from the Kill the Lights album.
