Mustaches and Veterans’ Day aren’t typically associated with one another, but perhaps Luke Bryan is trying to start a new trend in honor of the troops? Bryan posted a photo on Twitter Wednesday (Nov. 11) with his oldest son, Tate, looking prepared to go hunting, in which a certain conspicuous strip of facial hair featured prominently.

Though it has been wife-approved for 24 hours, we (and likely most of his female fans) are thankful she is not allowing it to be a permanent fixture. Bryan accidentally noted the holiday as President’s Day in the caption, prompting him to go on a three-tweet string of corrections and clarifications acknowledging his typo. Next time, we bet he’ll proofread before hitting “send!"

Bryan recently performed his newest single, “Strip It Down,” at the 2015 CMA Awards, where he also won Entertainer of the Year. He’s been tapped to sing his duet with Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild at the upcoming American Music Awards — a significant honor, given that the show spans all genres. The song, “Home Alone Tonight,” is the first ever male-female duet featured on one of his albums, appearing on his latest record, Kill the Lights.

“We had always certainly entertained the right collaboration under the right circumstances,” Bryan says, “but it’s always about the right song, and we’ve never really found the song that necessarily did what we wanted it to do.”

Bryan is also the only country artist nominated for the Artist of the Year category at the AMAs.
