Luke Bryan is back in the studio, and if you ask him, his hard work may yield new music that's better than ever. Easing fans' questions regarding what's on the way, the country superstar reveals that he's been hard at work on his upcoming sixth studio album.

“Certainly, I'm in the studio. [I’ve] recorded some stuff, [and am] probably halfway through my project. [I’m] really getting geared up,” Bryan tells ABC News Radio.

The highly-anticipated album, which has no release date currently, follows Bryan's massively successful Kill the Lights album. Not only did the 2015 project debut in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, it peaked at the top of the all-genre Billboard 200Additionally, Bryan scored six consecutive No. 1 singles off that album with popular tracks like "Home Alone Tonight," "Strip it Down" and his current hit, "Fast."

“I really have not ever taken like a breath since I rolled into this town," Bryan says, adding that he's been writing new songs for about a month. "So [I’m] kinda taking a little breath and enjoying that, and then you start having anxiety about, you know, not having music out.”

The hitmaker hasn't slowed over the course of his career that has produced five chart-topping albums and more than a dozen hits. Somehow, Bryan has managed to find a little downtime between projects to wind down and write. While it will be hard to top a project as successful as Kill the Lights, the superstar assures that his time in the studio has been fruitful.

“I'm … really, really proud of the stuff I've got," he admits. "And [I’m] going back in, and that's the thing. I love going in and the energy in the studio and trying to outdo myself again!”

Bryan is currently on the road on his 2017 Huntin’ Fishin’ & Lovin’ Everyday Tour.
