Luke Combs Joins Jason Aldean’s Concert for the Kids Lineup
Last year’s show raised more than half a million dollars for the children’s hospital in Aldean’s hometown of Macon, Ga., Navicent Health. The 2017 event will take place Aug. 11 at Macon Coliseum, and Aldean will headline.
“Supporting these kids in Macon and their families is something that I’m really proud to be a part of,” Aldean says. “We’re looking forward to getting back to town, kicking things up a couple notches and hopefully raise a huge amount of money for the hospital so that they can continue to grow and serve my hometown community.”
Combs has been steadily growing in popularity since his platinum-certified hit “Hurricane” impacted the genre last year and his debut full-length album hit No. 1 on the Billboard country albums chart and No. 5 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart this summer. His second single, “When It Rains, It Pours,” is currently playing on country radio. Combs is on tour with Brantley Gilbert’s Devil Don’t Sleep Tour through early fall.
Aldean’s They Don’t Know Tour continues through the fall, and he recently performed at Country Jam in Colorado. He and his wife, Brittany are expecting a baby boy — his third child, the first two from a previous marriage. He says he’s been giving parenting advice to guys like Thomas Rhett along the way, who also recently became a dad.
“I was texting him one day and he was kinda asking me some questions,” Aldean shares. “I think being a parent — it’s something you figure out along the way,” he says. “There’s no book; there’s no right or wrong way to do it. You just figure it out as you go along.”
