Maren Morris is staying busy as an up-and-coming country artist. She stopped by the Taste of Country Nights studio and opened up about filming her first music video — and what she's looking forward to on the Keith Urban tour.

Morris' first single, "My Church," was just released, and now the Texas native has released a video for the track. She went back to the Lone Star State and filmed the video — something that was important to her.

“I actually filmed it in Austin. It was important to me … I think that song is so autobiographical to me and my journey, even though it’s a universal message ... you know everyone feels a connection to music," she explains.

"All the road trip hours I’ve logged just touring around Texas, that’s sort of where my head was at when I wrote the song. So shooting the video and capturing that visual was really important to me to shoot in Texas.”

The video's director scouted the choir that's seen in the video when they shot it several months back.

“They were so fun, and we shot that four or five months ago. It feels far away now but I’m so glad it’s finally out. It was a lot of fun to make. It was my first video ever.”

Morris will take "My Church" and the rest of her songs out on bigger stages when she goes on tour with Urban and  Brett Eldredge. The tour kicks off June 2 in Kansas City, Mo.

Sam Alex is the host of Taste of Country Nights radio, a syndicated night show which airs on more than 60 Townsquare Media Group stations nationwide.
