Martina McBride will perform the National Anthem at NASCAR's biggest and most prestigious race, the Daytona 500, on Sunday, Feb. 20. McBride broke the news herself with an ecstatic tweet: "Yes it's true! Singing our National Anthem at the Daytona 500. How cool is that????!!!!"

The country star says, “Singing our National Anthem is always a great honor for me. I’ve had the pleasure of singing it at so many prestigious events and now I get to add the historic Daytona 500 to that list." She adds, "You can’t get any more all-American than NASCAR and country music, so I’m looking forward to seeing so many of our mutual fans at this impressive event.”

Daytona International Speedway President Joie Chitwood III is looking forward to McBride performing the National Anthem, too. "With hundreds of thousands of race fans in attendance and the tens of millions more watching live on FOX, we look forward to hearing Martina’s rendition of the National Anthem," he says.

Much sought after to perform the anthem at sporting events, the 'Independence Day' singer was a good luck charm for the Pittsburgh Steelers all year. She was even asked late in the season to sing at their last playoff game, which they won.

To date, McBride has more than $18 million in album sales and 24 Top 10 singles, including six that reached No. 1. She recently signed with Big Machine Label Group’s Republic Nashville and is in the studio recording her 11th studio album, out some time this year.
