Ruminating about her past year and her recent indulgences, Martina McBride wrote on her blog today that she's ready to get back into a healthy lifestyle after all the holiday excitement.

"Let's face it, the holidays are really just a time (for most of us) when we say 'to heck with it' and let it all hang loose," she wrote. "Literally. As in, I only wear baggy, shapeless clothing starting at Thanksgiving and continuing through the first week of January ... when I finally have had enough and resolve to get back on track. Which, for me, means making healthy choices about food, starting a workout program, saying no to that 2nd (OK, maybe 3rd) glass of wine, and trying to get more sleep."

Though she admits she had hoped to have a more creative resolution for this year, the star says she was feeling too tired and "blah" to seek out that creative angle. Even that lethargy, she speculated, could be due in part to the holiday food. But once she's back in her routine, she says she knows she'll have ample energy for all the things she has planned for this year.

In addition to being nominated for a 2012 Grammy Award for Best Country Solo Performance, the 'I'm Gonna Love You Through It' singer is heading out on tour from Jan. 27 through Feb. 25. Making stops all over the country, McBride will be hitting the road with country great George Strait.

Thanking her fans at the end of her blog post, she wrote, "It's going to be the best year yet, and I am so happy and grateful I have you all along for the ride! See, I feel better already!"
