Marty Stuart garnered a Grammy award this evening. The country legend grabbed the award for Best Country Instrumental Performance at the pre-broadcast ceremony.

Stuart was nominated for his song ‘Hummingbyrd,’ among bluegrass family band Cherryholmes, the Infamous Stringdusters, the Punch Brothers and Darrell Scott.

‘Hummingbyrd’ appears on the singer’s August 2010 album ‘Ghost Train – The Studio B Sessions.’ Stuart — who is married to fellow country singer Connie Smith — is known for his eclectic sound and ability to blend country music with honky-tonk and rockabilly.
