Part of the prize for winning CMT's 'Next Superstar' competition was getting to be the opening act on the 2011 CMT Tour. Matt Mason was crowned the 'Next Superstar' in June, and as promised, spent his fall opening for the tour's headliner Luke Bryan, as well as Josh Thompson and Lee Brice.

Mason's final show with the tour took place last Friday (Nov. 11) in Muncie, Ind., which also happened to be the young star's 26th birthday. Mason finished out his commitment with his performance, but gave fans one final memory of his involvement with the tour when he came back out to the stage to prank Bryan during 'Country Girl (Shake It for Me).'

Mason, sporting a pink 'Country Boy' T-shirt, black shorts, boots and a ball cap, snuck up behind Bryan mid-song while playing a banjo. As the crowd's cheering increased, Bryan caught on to what was happening behind him. Mason then lost his banjo and began to swing his hips from side to side while Bryan and the sold-out crowd chanted, "Country boy shake it for me, boy, shake it for me, boy, shake it for me."

"All right, Matt ... that was ... uh ... we got to work on your shakin', buddy," joked Bryan following the crowds laughter at Mason's moves.

The CMT Tour wraps this week in Monroe, La. Later this month, Mason will head into the studio, where he will begin work on his debut album on Warner Bros. Records.
