Country icon Merle Haggard will grace the stage of Guitar Center Sessions with a performance of his classic hit, "Big City," on Friday night (Dec. 18).

Now in its 11th season, Guitar Center Sessions features exclusive live performances and interview footage from a wide array of musical artists. Hosted by influential radio and TV personality Nic Harcourt, the Telly Award-winning program airs in high definition and surround sound, offering music fans of all genres truly one-of-a-kind content on a weekly basis.

This season will mark the show's 100th episode. Upcoming episodes will focus on artists as diverse as Chicago, Jason Derulo and Jerrod Niemann.

“As a musical instrument retailer, it is incredibly important that we connect with our customer base in a way that inspires and celebrates the art of musicianship," says Guitar Center Vice President of Marketing Brian Berman in a press release. "The fact that we’ve now recorded 100 episodes is proof that Guitar Center Sessions has done just that — connected with music fans in a very real and authentic way that has the ability to withstand the test of time. We are incredibly proud of our team and grateful to all of the talented musicians who have been a part of this journey.”

Inspired by a chance remark from Haggard's longtime friend and bus driver, "Big City" was released in 1982 as the second single from Haggard's album of the same name. It reached No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart, becoming one of the Country Music Hall of Famer's biggest career hits.

Check out Haggard's performance in the clip above, and tune in to Guitar Center Sessions on Friday at 9 PM ET/PT on Audience Network on DIRECTV channel 239 or AT&T U-verse TV channel 1114 to view the entire episode.
