Mike Smith is sharing the premiere of his new video for "Little Bit of Us' exclusively with Taste of Country readers.

The Cuban-American country singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist co-produced the song with Gilby Clarke of Guns N’ Roses and the Avila Brothers. Smith wrote “Little Bit of Us” just a day before heading to L.A., and recorded it the next day during a break from filming his reality TV series, One Shot. They had initially planned to record another song at the session, but "Little Bit of Us" turned out to be both Smith and Clarke's favorite, making it the clear choice for the lead single from Smith's upcoming album, Always You and Me.

"The whole recording process was surreal for me. I had flown home from New York City after working on my TV show One Shot. Then, after one day home with my wife and kids, I am standing in Gilby Clarke’s house in L.A. cutting my vocals for the track while staring at all his MTV Moonman awards,” Smith says. “It made me realize how blessed and important my kids and my wife are in keeping me grounded. It is the whole message I am trying to portray in the song.”

The video shows Smith in a variety of work settings, from washing dishes in a kitchen to taking care of patients as a doctor, and filling the time in between with a long to-do list of things to repair ... all so he can support his family and make it home to his wife at the end of the day.

The song and video draw from Smith's real life. A Philadelphia native, Smith grew up in New Jersey and moved to North Carolina to attend college. He married his college sweetheart, Erika, with whom he has six children. The family currently split their time between Charlotte, N.C. and Nashville.

"Little Bit of Us" is set for release on April 8 exclusively via Spotify. Check out the video premiere above, and visit Smith's official website for more information, or follow him on Twitter and Facebook.
