Mindy McCready’s Ex Billy McKnight Issues Statement About Son’s Disappearance
Billy McKnight, Mindy McCready's ex-boyfriend and the father of 5-year-old Zander, spoke with the 'Today' show this week, but after his appearance found himself with more to say about McCready's disappearance with his young son in tow. McKnight has since issued an official press release on the matter.
The statement reads:
"I would like to thank each and every one of you for your love and support during this ordeal. I am overwelmed by the amount of people that reached out to let me know they were praying for my son's safe return. As we move forward from this incident, please remember that everyone has the ability to make positive changes in their life. Our new single "Lay It Down" talks about battling your demons and it is my wish that this ordeal will help Mindy get back on her path so she can be a part of our sons life. -Billy McKnight"
In addition to thanking the public for reaching out to help, McKnight spoke about the latest release from his band Soul Circus Cowboys, a song which relates directly to the tough situation his family has been facing as of late. While the SCC will not officially release the powerful music video for the single until Jan. 5, it can be seen below right now.
McCready and Zander were discovered Saturday in a home in Heber Springs, Arkansas, hiding in a closet. The little boy is now in the custody of the Arkansas Division of Children and Family Services who have made plans to return him to his grandmother, who is his legal guardian, in Florida.
