Did Miranda Lambert Ditch the Platinum Hair?

Miranda Lambert‘s Certified Platinum Tour kicks off Thursday (Jan. 15) in Evansville, Ind., but the singer seems to have ditched her platinum blonde hair prior to the launch.

Roughly 80 lucky fans were treated to a sneak peek of the tour at Nashville’s Exit/In Tuesday night (Jan. 13). The show was a surprise popup, announced just a few hours earlier, and Lambert’s hair was a bit unexpected, as well.

The superstar took the small stage in leather hotpants over sheer tights, sporting a T-shirt with simply the word ‘Nashville’ scrawled across it. And while she looked flawless, fans couldn’t help but notice her hair seemed a bit … darker. Instead of her typically super blonde, shoulder-length locks, Lambert was muted — her new color is much darker than the one she sported at the American Country Countdown Awards last month. It doesn’t look like Lambert has taken any great length off of her hair, but it seems she may have added a few more layers. She’s still got her mane’s classic side part in check for the tour, however.

Lambert went platinum blonde last summer, a change she said was inspired by Marilyn Monroe. “Who wouldn’t want to look like Marilyn Monroe? With the album being [called] ‘Platinum,’ I got lighter in my hair because I wanted to pay homage to the title of the record,” she said in July.

There’s no indication of who — or what — may have inspired this winter look. Lambert’s tour — which includes Justin Moore, RaeLynnSunny SweeneyAshley Monroe and Danielle Bradbery — has many stops booked in 2015. See a list of dates here.
