Fans gave a big thumbs up for Miranda Lambert's new single over the weekend. 'Smokin' and Drinkin',' her collaboration with Little Big Town, was one of the highlights from the 2014 CMA Awards, and its popularity translated into Showdown votes.

Today and Tuesday the track will take on the latest from Joe Nichols. 'Hard to Be Cool' makes its return to the Showdown after being bested by Old Dominion two months ago. The singer says it was an easy choice to make the mellow song the third single from 'Crickets.' He's enjoying the most success of his career, and loving every moment of it.

Listen to clips of both Lambert and Nichols’ songs and vote for your favorite here. You can vote once every hour until this Showdown ends on Wednesday at 8AM ET, so come back and vote often to be sure your artist wins. The winner of this matchup will face a new challenger on Wednesday.

Showdown Rules: The song with the most votes wins, and the winner goes on to face a new challenger in the next Showdown. Vote as much as once per hour online. Some songs will be considered for a second Showdown if voter turnout is healthy in a losing effort.
