Fans who attended the opening night of Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town's Bandwagon Tour got more than they paid for. The superstar joined the award-winning vocal quarter onstage for a joint set that included a heart-wrenching rendition of her hit, "Tin Man."

Lambert and LBT performed at the PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, N.C., on Thursday night (July 12) to open the tour, and in addition to each act playing a separate set, they also teamed for a mini-set that featured Lambert joining Little Big Town for "Boondocks" and "Girl Crush," while they returned the favor by lending their voices to "Little Red Wagon" and "Tin Man."

Click on the video above to hear them all blend their voices at the end of the song, with LBT adding additional lift and scope to the wordless melody that threads throughout "Tin Man." They also teamed up on a stellar cover of Bill Withers' classic "Lean on Me," joined by singer-songwriter Natalie Hemby, who has written songs for both acts and is one of the support acts on the tour. Additional opening acts Tenille Townes, Turnpike Troubadours and the Steel Woods also joined in for the special show-closing performance, which you can see below.

LBT singer Karen Fairchild had previously said that there would likely be some collaboration when the group got together with Lambert on the road.

"Honest to God, there isn’t a song of hers that I wouldn’t want to sing. I remember hearing “The House That Built Me” and having to pull my car over from tears. I feel that way about so much of her stuff. Nobody owns the stage like Miranda does, and she has those total kickass moments, and she just kills it," she told Rolling Stone Country.

The group would like to do a more permanent collaboration with Lambert.

"We'll probably do some writing," Phillip Sweet tells Taste of Country Nights. "Writing has definitely been one of the things we've talked about doing. We write on the road a lot."
