In April, Miranda Lambert hosted her 4th Annual Cause for Paws benefit event in her home state of Texas, which drew a record-breaking 7,000 fans to attend. Lambert, along with her special guests Stoney LaRue and Josh Kelley, raised nearly $300,000 for her MuttNation Foundation that supports animal shelters and the Humane Society of East Texas.

Money was raised through the ticket sales, as well as sponsorships and live auction items, tallying an impressive $294,000. Combined with funds raised over the past three years, Lambert has raised close to $600,000 for the cause.

“It was wonderful to come home to [Tyler, Texas] again for Cause for Paws this year," Lambert says in a press release about the event. "It’s a moving experience to see all of the support for a cause that is so close to my heart. I am thankful to my fans and everyone who came to be part of this day and help these animals.”

Since Lambert started her MuttNation Foundation, The Humane Society of East Texas has become a no-kill shelter.

“This year we took our event to the streets of Tyler to open it up to a broader fan base for both Miranda and the shelter,” says Bev Lambert, who is the Director of MuttNation. “There was no shortage of support in this community. Going from 1,000 to over 7,000 in attendance was quite the feat, and we are more than thrilled with the outcome! We want to thank all of our amazing sponsors and the City of Tyler as well as the people of East Texas and beyond for joining us in the fight to aid homeless, abandoned, neglected and abused animals.”

In addition to volunteering at the local shelter, Lambert adopted her dog Delilah there, who joins her other rescue animals Jesse, Waylon, Delta Dawn, Cher, Black Betty, Virginia Bluebell and cats Shelley, Maxine, and Suzie Q, as well as a host of farm animals.

Besides celebrating the funds raised for MuttNation, this week the singer is also celebrating her current single, 'Heart Like Mine,' sitting just shy of the No. 1 slot on the country singles chart. To top things off, this weekend (May 14), Lambert will wed her fiance, Blake Shelton.
