Miranda Lambert is heartbroken after learning of the mass shooting that took place inside First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs in Texas on Sunday (Nov. 5), leaving 26 people dead and nearly 20 others injured.

Lambert turned to Instagram on Monday morning (Nov. 6) to share a message of support for the small town in her home state, posting a black and white photo of the steeple of a church with the words "Sutherland Springs, TX" written across it, accompanied by a simple caption that reads "Prayers for Texas" with a broken heart emoji.

Several of Lambert's peers in the country music community have also expressed their condolences following the tragedy. "Praying for everyone in Sutherland Springs TX today. Unspeakable and heartbreaking!" Eli Young Band write on Twitter.

"My thoughts and prayers go out to those families in the church shooting in my home state of Texas!" says Chase BryantLady Antebellum's Hillary Scott, Eric Paslay and William Michael Morgan also posted about the shooting on social media.

The Sutherland Springs church shooter has been identified as 26-year-old Devin Kelley. Of the 26 killed, eight were members of the same family. The victims range in age from 5 to 72. It's the deadliest modern mass shooting in Texas history. The attack follows an equally tragic massacre in Las Vegas on Oct. 1, which left 58 people dead at the Route 91 Harvest Festival. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will pay tribute to the country fans who died during a special moment at Wednesday's (Nov. 8) 2017 CMA Awards.
