Music on TV – August 2011
Taste of Country has you covered with a comprehensive list of music on TV in August 2011. When you can't catch your favorite country stars live and in concert, the next best thing is watching them perform on TV. Here, you'll find a great go-to printout that breaks down where and when to see country's best on TV, and we'll be updating it as more appearances are announced throughout the month. This month is a great one, because just about every major country star will make it to television at some point, thanks to the CMA Music Fest Special. Nothing could be easier -- except flipping on the ol' tube. See which country music stars are gracing the small screen in August!
Trace will bunker down on the 'Fox & Friends' couch on August 3 to chat about his day-old 'Proud to Be Here' album, which includes his sweet father/daughter hit single, 'Just Fishin'.'
Tune in to FOX on August 7 when Taylor Swift represents country music at the Teen Choice Awards. The 'Love Story' songstress is up for the highest honor at the teenager-inspired red carpet: the Ultimate Choice award. All in all, the fan favorite 21-year-old is up for several big Teen Choice Awards!
Don't miss Trace Adkins on CNN, of all places. The country hitmaker will sit down with Piers Morgan about what's going on in his life, which is a lot in the past few months. After losing his home to a horrific fire back in June, Adkins has been busy picking up the pieces and prepping for his new album which celebrates all that he has, 'Proud to Be Here.'
How well do comedy and country mix? We'll find out when Trace Adkins meets the snarky/funny Chelsea Handler on August 11. The hitmaker will face 'Chelsea Lately' fans to chat about his latest album, 'Proud to Be Here,' which dropped on August 2.
Unless you're knee deep in the water somewhere (lucky!), you won't want to miss Zac Brown Band on the 'Today' show mid-month. Even if you can't make your way to the coast for a cool dip, Brown and his gang will take you to paradise with their soothing, sweet sound and rockin' performance of some country music on TV. We bet they'll even bring the old favorite, 'Chicken Fried,' along!
Anyone who calls themselves a country fan will need to head over to ABC on Sunday, August 14 for the CMA Music Fest Special. There, you'll catch performances from Miranda Lambert, Lauren Alaina, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum, Jason Aldean and so many more, all wrapped into country music's biggest night. Sure, the live event in Nashville may have come and gone, but if you've got a TV you can relive the music experience without having to leave the air conditioning. Pass the chips!
On August 16, actor/country singer Jeff Bridges will bring out the big guns on the 'Today' show. We don't have to speculate what music Bridges will bring along -- his self-titled new album drops that day, so we're in for a treat with some fresh-off-the-disc new music, only live on TV!
