‘Nashville’ Cast Releasing Holiday Album, ‘Christmas With Nashville’

Rascal Flatts' Jay DeMarcus made a cameo on 'Nashville,' and when he did, he got more than just an acting gig. The bassist was able to produce 'Christmas With Nashville,' the holiday compilation by the ABC cast.

'Christmas With Nashville' will drop on Nov. 4, just in time for the holiday season. It includes 'Santa Baby' by Clare Bowen, 'Blue Christmas' by Charles Esten and 'Christmas Coming Home' by Lennon and Maisy Stella, among many others. DeMarcus seemed particularly impressed by the young sisters.

"It comes so naturally for them; it's inbred in their DNA," he tells Rolling Stone Country. "They are the sweetest girls in the entire world. We had so much fun together working in the studio. They would start singing, and I would just sit there and completely get lost in it."

He also credits Hayden Panettiere for being a "natural" in the studio. She is also present on the record. Never fear, 'Nashville' fans, you'll also hear Connie Britton!

"Hayden has such a natural ability; when she opens her mouth there's a gorgeous tone that comes out," DeMarcus explains. "Same thing for Connie. She came in and she was like, 'I’m really not a singer. I’m an actor.' But she went in the studio and just came alive ... they may not say they're singers, but they are."

This isn't DeMarcus' first producing credit. He's got other production notes on his resume, but he gushes on how talented these particular individuals are.

"I was blown away by the consistent talent level of each actor as they came into the studio," the Flatts star says. "I realized immediately that I was working with gifted singers, as well. They are so meticulous about their craft of acting, and they were just as meticulous about making sure the music was right."
