For country music fans, 2011 is going to start off with a bang. In January, there will be several new country music releases from country icons like Willie Nelson, and also from up-and-coming stars like the banjo-centric bluegrass sounds of Abigail Washburn.

The first two weeks of January will see the release of several greatest hits albums, as well as original material. Lee Ann Womack, Sheryl Crow and Kenny Chesney will have greatest hits albums being released in the first two weeks. 'Can You Duet?' winners Steel Magnolia will also release their highly anticipated debut album on Jan. 11, which features their hit single 'Keep On Lovin' You.'

During the last two weeks of January, many country and southern rock icons will be releasing albums, including Greg Allman, who is releasing his first solo album in 14 years. Fans of James Wesley will also be happy to hear that the traditional country singer will release his album 'Real' on Jan. 25. Other artists releasing albums are Joe Nichols, T Bone Burnett and Lori McKenna, to name a few. Check back with Taste of Country towards the beginning of every month for a full list of new country music releases.
