Pat Green's simple version of 'Let It Snow' is good medicine during a much too busy Christmas season. The Texas singer stands alone (or sits ... he could be sitting) with his guitar on this short and sweet track. If you're through with hectic holiday shopping, Dr. Green has your remedy.

This version is as comfortable as your favorite sweater. Green is suddenly an old friend, sitting next to you at the family gathering as he sings this standard. His inflections feel spontaneous, not charted and rehearsed. If he took more than 10 minutes to cut this track, it'd be shock.

"Oh the weather outside is frightful / But the fire is so delightful / And since we've no place to go / Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!" he sings.

Green's 'Let It Snow' is just under two minutes long. Unfortunately, the holiday cut won't be available anywhere but on the radio. A press release said nothing of plans to release it digitally. At the very least, you can hear it streaming below. "The fire is slowly dying / And, my dear, we're still goodbying / But as long as you love me so / Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!"

Look for an album of covers called 'Songs We Wish We'd Written II' to be available in 2012. Green's official website says it'll be out on Feb. 28.
